The Foundations of American Government

The Foundations of American Government This video demonstrates that many of the current concepts related to the “separation of Church and State” were never intended by the Founding Fathers. The program surveys and analyzes the historical records on the drafting of the First Amendment and shows how much the original intent has been perverted. 25 minutes.
Customer Review: Foundations of American Government
I has seen this program on cable (not this video). I watched this series, not because it is done by a Christian organization, but because I am interested in our country and our freedoms. This is a series that contains a lot of religious references so balance that with what you intend for your audience. Even though Mr Barton refers to the Bible for some of his supporting arguments, I think what he argues for is sound for ALL Americans. I prefer to refer to his view as Judeo-Christian philosophy instead of Judeo-Christian religion because what he says is an excllent guide to being a just citizen in a republic such as the USA, which is something for all Americans, not just Christians or Jews. He may not have intended it that way, but this is how I approached it and I found the video intriguing and I think it will help you glean more from it, no matter your religious affiliation. Key questions he asks: Can unjust & immoral people select good leaders? Does scandalous conduct in private affairs mean anything on the public activities of a person? How is the First Amendment being misconstrued to restrict religious freedom instead of ensuring it? I think these are absolutely relevant questions for every American to ask. I think if you watch the videos with my afore mentioned caveats in mind I think you will find this video intriguing as well.

All benefits lawyers who do plan drafting or review plan documents will want to carefully read and digest this opinion written by Seventh Circuit Judge Richard Posner: “Call, et al. v. American Management pension Plan.” It seems to me that…

Countdown to tax Day
Have you been putting off doing your taxes? You’re not alone. Despite the filing deadline being extended two extra days, millions of taxpayers are beginning to feel the pressure to finish their taxes. The reasons are plentiful as to why you may not have filled your 2006 tax return. Fortunately, however, you have a two more days to file your tax return this year. Because April 15 falls on a Sunday and April 16 is a legal holiday in Washington, D.C., you have until April 17 to file your return (without requesting an extension).

It’s Time Uncle Sam taxed Techies
One of the many things I used to admire about the high-tech industry was its disinterest in seeking special favors from Washington, other than to be left alone to turn out truly amazing stuff. Now that’s changed.

It’s FAFSA Time
2nd Story Software, Inc., developers of what critics and users alike denote as being America’s #1 value-priced tax preparation software, announces taxACT 2006 Deluxe makes preparing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) easier for the 2007-2008 school year with its new College Student Financial Aid Worksheet. The FAFSA (The Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is an extremely critical financial aid form which all students requesting federal financial aid must file. Much like filling out a bank loan application, the FAFSA qualifies how much federal aid a student is eligible to receive (in the form of grants or loans) based on U.S. Department of Education guidelines - including information such as your family’s assets and previous year income.
